The Children’s Grand Adventure

Who We Are

Honoring Grace and Strength through Exploration

The Children’s Grand Adventure is nonprofit organization that rewards patients of Texas Children’s Cancer Center for their successful progression from disease.

These children – whose lives have been previously “put on hold,” because of the rigors of cancer treatment – experience travel, nature, education, introspection, bonding and friendship amid one of our world’s most inspiring and unforgettable settings.

Preserving the heath and safety of Children’s Grand Adventure attendees during such experiences is paramount. While traveling and participating, children are overseen by medical professionals from Texas Children’s Cancer Center and trained escorts.

We value the grace within all children; the strength of those who have overcome unique obstacles; and innocence that even sickness cannot ravage.

We envision a day when, through the support of generous donors, The Children’s Grand Adventure can welcome youngsters from throughout the nation and the world to experience nature free from the bonds of disease.

After traveling from Houston to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Children’s Grand Adventure participants typically experience 10 days of hiking, rafting, camping, team-building activities and encounters with wildlife. Although each Grand Adventure may be slightly different than those previous, all are carefully paced and fully orchestrated to assure round-the-clock safety, experience-based education and ample enjoyment. Truly an experience of a lifetime, children return from the Grand Adventure with a fresh outlook on life and the world around them.
